PETALING JAYA: Tourists can now enjoy an aerial view of selected scenic spots in the country via the 1Malaysia Helicopter Tour Packages.

The helicopter tour packages cover certain areas of Sabah, Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi, including the Mount Kinabalu Aerial Tour and Tunku Abdul Rahman Park (Sabah), Kuala Lumpur-Genting Highlands Tour and over Langkawi island.

Prices are subjected to packages offered by the various tour operators, said Tou-rism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen.

“Several travel agencies will offer helicopter tour packages either on fixed or custom-made itineraries.

“The tour packages are expected to attract more high-yield tourists,” Dr Ng said at a launch of the tour packages at the Sultan Aziz Abdul Aziz Shah airport near here yesterday.

Other tours offered included Kuala Lumpur-Putrajaya (subject to security clearance from the administrative capital) and Kuala Lumpur-Taman Negara, Pahang.

The Department of Wildlife and National Parks – is established in Kuala Gandah Elephant Conservation Centre in 1989. The centre is a base for the Elephant Relocation Team, which began the elephant translocation programme in 1974.
